PE and Sports Grant 2018-19

Earlham received £19,060 from the DfE PE and Sport Grant for 2018-19. We used this to help with the costs of employing specialist sports coaches for activities beyond the normal provision of the school. We also used the Sports Grant for equipment to offer the children a wide variety of sporting experiences, and to fund annual fitness events e.g Active Health Day, yoga etc

Activity Cost Explanation
Dance teacher £900 Quality dance teaching for dance club, including regular performances, costumes and visits to dance events.

Specialist coaches

- cricket (Y3 and 4 boys)

- multi-sport (KS2 girls)

- boxing (KS2 girls and boys)

£7,800 Expert cricket coaching for Years 3 and 4, the pupils have developed a good understanding of technique and strategy. Girls have the opportunity to try a variety of activities and have developed a greater interest in sport and exercise.
Active Health Days (taster day for KS1 & KS2 to try a range of sports such as cricket, netball, yoga, rugby)   £2,000

Children experience a wide range of sports and exercise activities to develop wider interests

Additional swimming lessons for identified pupils £1,100 Additional swimming lessons for identified pupils
Purchase of additional sports equipment for the delivery of PE lessons £4,000 Purchase of new equipment such as tennis nets, footballs, athletics equipment
Upgrade of Equipment £1700 An upgrade of equipment in order to deliver a wider range of sports throughout the school day (PE lessons and break/lunch times)
Membership of Tapscott Learning Trust £1,500

Access to competitive sports events such as dance competitions, football tournaments, paralympic competitions and tag rugby tournaments, along with the provision of staff CPD
