The Crystal Visit - Year 5 (December 2017)

As part of the  topic ‘Building a city’, Year 5 children have been learning about researching the history behind the making of different cities in the world and comparing the changes within the cities over the time. They also learnt about features of a city that lead to sustainability. In order to develop an understanding of what ‘sustainability’ is, Year 5 went on a trip to ‘The Crystal’ building on Royal Victoria Dock in east London. The Crystal contains a permanent exhibition about sustainable development. This visit helped children learn how to improve the future by using renewable resources. The children enjoyed the trip as it was fun and engaging to learn about saving resources.
