Our PSHE Curriculum
-
Our PSHE curriculum helps children understand and value how they fit into and contribute to the world, how they relate to others, and to understand and manage their feelings;
-
We follow the national curriculum;
-
We study the same themes across the school each half-term:
Covid adaptations to our PSHE curriculum: We are able to deliver the full curriculum, however work can only be done in pairs rather than groups in the current classroom arrangements. In addition we have a daily wellbeing check in in every class, where children register how they are feeling, discuss any issues, and are also given the opportunity to speak with their teacher 1:1 about anything that is concerning them.

-
We introduce the themes in our weekly assemblies and then explore these further in class;
-
The curriculum has a strong emphasis on emotional literacy and nurturing wellbeing which we celebrate in a whole school week exploring positive mental health through art, music, poetry and teamwork;
-
Issues around healthy relationships and changing bodies are further explored in science in Year 5 & 6.
