Earlham Spelling Bee (February 2017))

Earlham's first in-school Spelling Bee took place on 8th February. Every pupil, from Reception to Year 6, took home a list of words to learn to spell. Each class practised and tested their spellings and then four children from each class took part in the finals which were held in the school hall. The finalists are all excellent spellers and most year groups had a very close finish before the 'champions' finally won. Well done to all Earlham pupils, finalists and many other others, who learned their spellings. Pupils were so keen to learn how to spell Spelling Bee words that they were testing each other at playtime! Our Spelling Bee was great fun and was a very enjoyable reason for learning those spellings. Congratulations to the seven spelling 'champions'. Prizes were generously donated by W.H.Smith (Woodgrange Road) and Foyles bookshop (Westfield); the four winners of Foyles gift cards will be visiting the Foyles store with Earlham staff to make their own choice of books.
