Year 3 visit the Houses of Parliament

Year 3 have been learning about the UK. We know that London is the capital city because it is where the government meets to make decisions about the country. We are lucky enough to live in our capital city so we decided to learn more about how government works in the UK and we spent a day exploring the Houses of Parliament. We visisted the House of Lords and the House of Commons with a guide who shared some very interesting facts about the members of parliament who attend these rooms for meetings. We also got to view some other rooms within the Houses of Parliament and saw where all members of parliaments kept their letters as well as some fascinating artwork! We were able to travel through the city and learn more about our capital city - what a great experience!
